Definitive Networks design and build networks from the ground up, and in most cases this involves a degree of cabling. Until recently CAT5e cable was the most common type of cabling infrastructure. With guaranteed speeds of up to 100 Mbps and typical speeds reaching 1 Gbps, CAT5e has been used extensively in most business as the choice of cable to carry data and voice traffic.
CAT6e Cabling
With the increase in Hi-Definition Video and the demand for greater bandwidth CAT5e has slowly been super-seeded by CAT6e the next generation of network cable, which guarantees up to 1 Gbps data transfer. With the difference in cost marginal we have taken the decision to no longer supply CAT5e unless specifically requested, and CAT6e is now the minimum standard installed.
When the need arises we can also supply Fiber Optic for backbone links between buildings or for cable runs which exceed 100m. The Fiber Optics are made to measure and pre-terminated at factory level, this allows us to provide the best level of quality and a quicker installation.
